Alongside a full day of exhibited work and performances by other Urban Arts Partnership Academy students, Candice's Master Poets students will be performing a collective work and exhibiting a visual collaboration with the Academy's graphic design class during the evening segment of the festival. Free and open to the public. Copies of the class anthology will be sold on site.

Women Writers in Bloom Poetry Salon (WWBPS), curated by JP Howard, is a forum offering writers venues to collaborate monthly in a supportive & safe space.

Candice will feature and lead a workshop: The Poem as Manifesto and the Art of Choice wherein workshop participants would develop poems within the workshop that operate as rewriting personal narrative, emphasizing ownership and reclamation by creating extended erasure poems.

The Free Black Womens Library is a monthly pop up mobile library that features a collection of 400 boks written by Black women. The library contains books for children, and young adults, in addition to books on health, politics, finance, beauty, spirituality, history, culture, romance and sexuality. 

Please feel free to bring a book to donate or trade.
